Meet the Supplier: Samuel Heath
With over 200 years of craftsmanship, Samuel Heath are true masters in the design and manufacture of luxury brass bathroom fittings and architectural hardware. Each of their beautifully crafted bathroom collections is a tribute to a distinct era or design movement—drawing inspiration from its core principles and reimagining them with a modern sensibility.
How it all began
Founded in 1820 in Birmingham—then known as The City of a Thousand Trades—Samuel Heath began as a small, family-run brass foundry. At the time, the city was home to hundreds of such workshops, but few have endured. Over two centuries later, Samuel Heath continues to design and manufacture from the very same factory, proudly preserving its heritage of British craftsmanship.
Our Latest Collection
The One Hundred Collection is the latest expression of Samuel Heath’s commitment to contemporary British design. Inspired by the refined lines of luxury sports cars, the precision of Savile Row tailoring, and the effortless elegance of Mayfair hotels, it embodies understated sophistication and timeless craftsmanship.
Named after the brand’s historic home at 100 Leopold Street, Birmingham, the collection offers Luxe and Wing lever options with pure, balanced forms, and up to 11 interchangeable roundel finishes—including City Bronze, Brushed Gold Matt, and Stainless Steel. Meticulously detailed with knurled escutcheons and Clear or Gloss Black crystal inserts, One Hundred elevates functional design into a true sensory experience.
How and Where Our Products Are Made
Every Samuel Heath product is created entirely on-site at our Birmingham factory, where advanced technology meets traditional craftsmanship. Each component can pass through up to 28 meticulous stages, beginning with the finest Northern European brass.
The shaping process blends modern precision and heritage techniques—solid brass is cut, milled, and lathed using state-of-the-art CNC machinery, while select parts are hand-formed on a traditional hot stamp heated to 600°C.
Each piece is then hand-polished through a series of detailed stages to achieve a flawless surface ready for plating. This ensures the depth, lustre, and durability that define every Samuel Heath finish. Within our in-house plating workshop, both automated and small-batch processes allow us to offer a wide range of exquisite finishes, all crafted to the same uncompromising standards of British quality.
Our Commitment to Sustainability
At Samuel Heath, sustainability begins with timeless design. Each product is created to endure—both in style and quality—ensuring it can be cherished for generations rather than replaced.
Every fixture is crafted from solid brass, a material made from pure copper and zinc that can be infinitely recycled without losing its integrity. All by-products from production are also reused or recycled to minimise waste.
Because everything is manufactured under one roof in Birmingham, we maintain complete control over our environmental impact—reducing emissions through efficient machinery, responsible material handling, and continual process improvements.
Samuel Heath is also phasing out single-use plastics in packaging, replacing them with fully recyclable, eco-friendly alternatives that protect products while caring for the planet.
Fun Fact:
Samuel Heath brassware graces some of the world’s most prestigious homes—including those of A-list celebrities—and even appeared in the bathroom scenes of James Bond films Quantum of Solace (2008) and Skyfall (2012).
"Careful attention at every stage of production ensures each product is crafted with exceptional quality, built to last for generations."
